This caller is out of New Jersey. They say they are calling from “social security administration” and the voice mail told me that my social security Amber has been canceled due to “some reasons”. Now if social security services are going to call you it’s going to be an in-state number not an out-of-state number. Social Security is dealt with by your state not by any number out of state that is the first red flag. And if they’re going to cancel your number which they cannot do then this would be something that would be dealt with by a case worker. You would long before this message you know that something was wrong with your Social Security number. No one will ever Amber has been canceled due to “some reasons“. Now if Social Security services are going to call you it’s going to be an in state number not an out-of-state number. Social Security is dealt with by your state not buy any number out of state that is the first red flag. And if they’re going to cancel your number which they cannot do then this would be something that would be dealt with by a caseworker. You would long before this message know that something was wrong with your Social Security number. No one will ever call youAnd say “by the way we’re canceling your Social Security number”. It’s a complete scam but they do it in a way to scare you because it sounds somewhat official. They ask for your first and last name to pull up your account and I didn’t get anywhere past that because I just got fed up with the fact that I can’t believe people will go this far. But just remember DO NOT GIVE YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER OUT OVER THE PHONE!!!! And secondly if the social security department is contacting you, then it should be an IN STATE NUMBER!!! If you live in CT, then the social services number will be a Connecticut number. If you live in Florida then the social services number will be a Florida number, and so on, and so forth. Please be careful everyone!! Protect yourself! And also know that if something is being done concerning your social service status, that the state will contact you IN WRITING, NOT BY PHONE! The only time social services contacts you by phone is whenever a case worker is contacting you!!!!!
